A Year In Review

The AMJ featured the work of students throughout 2009. Global issues were tackled from the student perspective. Many papers reported the undue influence and adverse impact of commercial interests on health care. The AMJ also published investigator led projects with a more traditional clinical focus. Experts in design and or health reform framed the interests of researchers who presented evidence for interventions promoting health and reducing the burden of illness.

About one half of the children with diarrhoea under the age of five are not taken to health centers.

CASE STUDY

Fluconazole Induced Skin Lesion

Fluconazole is generally well tolerated but the possibility of it causing sensitization and allergic reactions should be born in mind, especially in case of long term therapy in patients with recurrent infections. Any new, localised skin lesion, during the course of such therapy, should be considered potentially drug induced unless proved otherwise.
