Biofilm formation is widespread in chronic wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs). Screening for biofilm formation needs to be performed as a routine procedure for diabetics with chronic diabetic foot ulcers.

Celebrating successes in oral health
 

Dental decay today is no longer the problem it was previously thanks to population-level fluoride. Australia has done a lot to address dental ill-health, but problems and risks remain, especially for the poor and the aging. Measures need to be taken to address the shifting pattern of disease burden.
